World Superbikes 2006

The World Superbike Championship is one of the biggest motorcycle championships in the world, involving over 70 of the world's finest riders and over 35 teams. The championship begins at the end of Feb 2006 in Qatar, and travels around the world before ending in France in October. It is a series that has captured the imagination and the hearts of British race fans, as it is the natural progression and proving ground for British riders once they have reached the high level of British Superbikes.

World Superbikes 2006 from Green Inc is a co-production with TWI / IMG, one of the world's - if not the - world's largest sports production and distribution companies. Green Inc is in partnership with TWI on this project so that each round of the World Superbikes can be turned around on a same-day delivery basis with Green Inc producing the on-site pictures with features, interviews and presenter links.

These pictures are then satellited back to TWI's headquarters in the UK and produced into one 1-hour package for same-day air on Channel 4 and a highlights package of half an hour the following Sunday morning. The show will be presented by Green Inc's Jonathan Green and Fran Robinson. Commentary will be the world feed commentary with Jonathan Green and alongside him will be the likes of Scott Smart, Warwick Nowland and James Haydon.

The on-site team will produce exclusive interviews and features, such as track walks through the tricky sections of the featured circuits. The viewers benefit from the riders' racing knowledge and Jonathan's lively banter to guide them through the best racing in the world. Who's on form and who isn't, who should have won but didn't and why, is there a top class rider suffering from lack of form, did they make a mistake on the last bend? All these questions are answered.

Features with all the top riders allow the viewers to get to know the riders for who they are, rather than just as a name and number or a flashy crash helmet! Technical features take viewers under the fairing of the top machinery out there. The coverage gives the viewers as much access as possible - better than a pit pass and all from the comfort of your own armchair! Here are some of the in-shows features shown throughout the series:-

  • Machinery profiles, Comparisons and Updates
  • Tuning and Technical
  • Equipment Profiles
  • Motorcycle Culture
  • Hints, Tips and Tricks
  • Classic Moments
  • Road and Bike Profiles
  • Motorcycle News
  • Lifestyle, Glamour and Location

Superbike racing and road use of Superbikes has never been more popular. The old adage of "when will Britain get the next Barry Sheene?" is over. That time is now. World Superbikes 2006 follows the highs and lows of this popular dynamic Motorsport.
