Following the unique award-winning style and success of rally programme "Shakedown", presented by Mark Cole, Green Inc were commissioned by David Sonenscher of the Asian Festival of Speed Motorsports Series to create a similar feel programme to one of Asia's premier series - the Porsche Infinion Carrera Cup Asia.
The half-hour pilot was produced around the famous Macau Grand Prix and presenter-led by Jonathan Green. It goes behind the scenes of the sport and the event in an off-beat and sometimes, quite literally, off-the-wall fashion, following the events on the track, but more interestingly, the ones off it.
The Macau Grand Prix, now in its 53rd year, is without doubt Asia's premier motorsport event outside of Formula One. The ex-Portguese colony which is now part of China, has become, quite literally, a Las Vegas for the Chinese, perched on the Pearl River estuary. This refreshing half-hour format is also a vessel for Jonathan Green to stretch his presenting legs to their full extent. It appears he fears nothing and will go just about anywhere to get the story, yet at all times, the characters he involves are game to play along.
Motorsport itself has long been the possession of the anorak fan. This style of programming opens it up to a mainstream audience. Sport meets entertainment meets travelogue - the exotica of Asia from China to Malaysia, Indonesia to India, will all be uncovered as you travel across Asia, "Palin-style", following the Asian Festival of Speed and its events.
