The Ian Rush Icelandair Masters

One of the greatest legends in football has given his name to a new International tournament that takes place in Iceland in November and what's more he's bringing many of his famous mates with him.

Ian Rush captains a Liverpool team in a 5 a side masters competition in Reykjavik which will also includes teams from Arsenal and Manchester United. Great names that have graced the pitches of Anfield, Highbury and Old Trafford are appearing, including Kenny Sansom, Frank Stapleton, John Wark, Jan Molby, Michael Thomas and Graham Rix.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United play each other, but they will also play against top amateur teams who have competed in a gruelling qualifying tournament to earn the right to play against their heroes. What a proud boast for any would be footballer to be able to say to his friends and team-mates "this afternoon we are up against a Liverpool team captained by Ian Rush".
